Modern Building Survey Techniques for Historic Buildings

Paul Bryan heads up the York-based Geospatial Imaging team that takes the corporate lead across Historic England on applying modern image and laser based survey approaches across heritage. Awarded Fellowship of the RICS in 2013 he has extensive knowledge of image based survey including photogrammetry, laser scanning, low-level aerial imaging using drones and is the Historic England lead on Building Information Modelling (BIM) for Heritage. Chris Hudson is a Chartered Civil Engineer with 20 years industry experience.

Chris has operated as Client, Consultant and Contractor within a range of industry sectors and has fulfilled roles as a Highways Designer, Bridge Inspector & Bridge Maintenance Designer. Chris spent some time working for York City Council where he gained experience in respect to Historic Conservation aspects of Civil Engineering and now works in the Rivers, Coastal Protection and Marine Sector of the industry for a Contractor called VolkerStevin based in Preston.
