Heritage Open Days - Clitheroe 2019

A Guided Tour of Clitheroe Inns – Past & Present

Based on the recently published ‘Inns of Clitheroe Past & Present’ (May 2019) book by Local Historian, John Lambert.

This tour will take in many of the most historic Inns and Public Houses within the Ancient Market Town of Clitheroe's Conservation Area and refer to many no longer existing. The visits will include a detailed perspective of each site's history, development and some of its previous landlords. Though access to all of the standing Inns is possible this does not form a part of the tour. Internal access to the existing inns is not planned on this tour. This should not prevent visitors returning at a later time and date! The route corresponds to some sections of the Town Trail and significant feature of the Trail will also be highlighted along the way.

Internal access to the existing inns is not planned on this tour. This should not prevent visitors returning at a later time and date!

The guided tour starts and finishes at Clitheroe Castle Gates, Castle Street, BB7 1AZ
